I went to the Grizzly Bear show last night at The Wiltern and Here We Go Magice was the opening band (never heard of them before that.. they said it was their first time in LA). Id say the song below (video above) was probably one of the most memorable songs performed that night.

I know some of you will not like this but I think it will grow on you like horseradish.

Black Moth Super Rainbow

I'm really digging this band's vibe. I've been listening to them quiet a bit over the last week or 2. They sound kinda like a diet version of I Monster. The new record, Eating Us, is awesome but the vocoder can get a bit boring/played out if you listen to the album too much... but still good. Black Moth Super Rainbow is on the road with School of Seven Bells until the beginning of August (already played a sold out show in LA :/... missed that shit)

Montreal

Okay... Montreal was awesome... I got to meet a TON of really cool people (including The Stills, We are Wolves, Dirty Projectors, and other really cool people who are not in bands ;)) and saw a TON of really cool things. Im kinda tired of talking about it so this is all your going to get. You prob don't care about the details anyway.

Lets get back to cool shit.

I have had this at least 5 times already! A def must have if you are ever in Quebec.

So far Montreal has been very good to me. I took a cab from the airport straight to my friends club night thingy he has every Thursday night (Ill try and introduce you to him and the characters I have met and have been spending time with in future posts.... Poutine will have to be the opening act) and it has been pretty nonstop the whole weekend. Yesterday was the first day I was sorta on my own and had a chance to explore the city. I'm flirting with the idea of living out here for the rest of the summer... who knows?
